The most recent edition of EDGE magazine features a big Nintendo blowout interviewing many big names from the company such as Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma. While on the topic of open worlds in video games, Aonuma took this as a chance to tease some more about the open world in the next Legend of Zelda game for Wii U. We already know that the world is going to be very vast, in fact it has been mentioned before that it will be comparable to the vastness of Kyoto, Japan. Here’s what he had to say…
Since we’re talking about open worlds, let’s state upfront that we don’t plan to have an open world in the same way other companies have been doing in recent years.
Could this mean that they may be introducing a new mechanic to the open world genre? Or does it mean it will be more limited? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

I don’t really understand what he might be talking about – I mean an open world is an open world, right? Although this does just make me even more excited for 2015!
Definitely haha
Perhaps it is completely non-linear, even open world games have some linearity
Noooooooooooooooooooo if they take linearity away like in LBW, I will hunt them down…
BTW, regret selling your copy if MK8? :p
