It’s so close, but I’ sure these last two-ish days may feel like the longest. Yes, just under two days remain until Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches onto Nintendo Switch.

Due to a telling off of a couple friends, today’s countdown to smash will include a further two characters that should be added to Smash… are you happy now, Carlton! Check it out after the break.

Waluigi

He can play tennis, he can crash parties, but apparently Nintendo doesn’t think he can smash. Waluigi has been hugely requested by both fans and non-fans alike. But maybe it’s about time he gets that upgrade from Assist Trophy to a full on playable fighter!

His main choice of weapon would obviously be his faithful tennis racket for his standard and tilt attacks. His smash attack could stomp an enemy in the ground if timed correctly (or just deal damage if not). A side smash could get the purple troublemaker to use his driver golf club. This move could either just be use to whack enemies around the head, or could be utilised to launch players that have been stomped like a golf ball!

Waluigi’s down smash could let him take out a Bob-omb, similar to how Link uses bombs, and his recover would allow him to ‘swim’ in the air for a brief period. I’d like to call his final smash Wll-uigi, based off his super ability in Mario Striker Charged. What this will do is briefly summon a wall of purple brambles to each side of him, launching all those who dare set foot on them.

Spyro

Okay, so I know technically Spyro Reignited Trilogy isn’t on Switch, but surely after all those accidentally listings, the trilogy will find its way onto the console soon? Imagine if Nintendo announced Spyro in Ultimate right after announcing the Reignited Trilogy for Switch. The announcement writes itself really.

His standard and tilt attacks could have him using a simple head-butt, combo these together for more damage and finesse. Spyro’s regular smash could be a flame breath he is able to move from side to side. This would only last a short period as it will gradually lose power. A side smash could make him perform a charge attack. Down B will get Sparx out and, if the timing is right, will reflect an attack. Every time an attack if reflected though, Sparx’s power will decrease, like when Spyro receives damage in games. You can ‘recharge Sparx by performing taunts fully. 

His recovery smash is a glide similar to his other games, but this time he will swoop up for some air a bit… try aiming his horns for an unsuspecting derrière. As a final smash, he can summon Sgt. Bird to blast your enemies away, Sheila to give your foes a good kicking, or Agent 9 to vaporise the competition. All do equal damage, but provide different cut-scenes.
