About Leon Fletcher

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Nintendo’s E3 2019’s plans detailed

Only a month away until every gamers’ second Christmas, and Nintendo have now revealed their full plans for E3 2019. As expected, Nintendo will be starting the show a bit early with the 2019 world championships for Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. These competitive events will be streamed live from Los Angeles from 7pm BST on Saturday 8th June!

Nintendo do love to tease us lot, so it’s rather suiting that their E3 Direct doesn’t air until a few days later. Nintendo’s E3 2019 Direct, which airs on Tuesday 11th June from 5pm BST, promises to showcase upcoming games and software coming to the Nintendo Switch system. It’s likely to expect games such as Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and a few other surprises during the presentation. In addition to this, from the moment the Nintendo Direct ends, Nintendo will be hosting their usual Nintendo Treehouse Live segments until Thursday 13th June. Nintendo Treehouse Live focuses on live gameplay from upcoming games, and sometimes includes a couple extra surprise announcements.

You can catch all the latest Nintendo E3 announcements here at NintyBuzz over on the E3 2019 Hub where we will have Nintendo’s live streams, a news stream of Nintendo E3 news, and a live blog to document our excitement during E3 week!

Metroid Prime 4 development restarted

Today, Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer of Nintendo, appeared in a video updating fans on the development of Metroid Prime 4. Unfortunately, the development team have been having difficulties bringing the title up to the same standard as the previous games.

Nintendo have made the difficult decision to completely restart development of the anticipated sequel from the ground up. This time development will receive aid from Kensunke Tanabe, producer/co-producer of the original games, as well as Retro Studios. This does mean that the game will take much longer to release, though seeing how much care is going into the development, I’m sure it will be worth the wait!

Forums to close end of January

3DS Buzz and 3DS Buzz Forums first opened its doors way back in 2011. It was the first time I had ever truly felt at home on an online community. There were loads of other gamers from around the world to talk to about Nintendo as well as other random subjects. It truly was a great place to hang out online.

When 3DS Buzz shut down, I decided to take over the forums in 2016 in an attempt to revive the community. Unfortunately, after 8 glorious years, it is time to finally say goodbye to the forums. Come 31st January 2019, it will no longer be possible to register an account, log in, or post any more content. The forums may be inaccessible for a period of time, but I will ensure that an archive will be made so people can reminisce about the toilet thread… an other serious subjects.

The reason I chose to close down the forums is primarily because I just do not have the time or resources to try and make the community active again. I tried a few things, but I never really got much traction. Who knows though, maybe someday in the future the forums could see a return, but in the meantime, it has been an absolute pleasure talking to everyone there.

I still fully intend on continuing writing for NintyBuzz however. In addition to this, it is still entirely possible to post comments on the articles here. If you logged onto NintyBuzz using your forum details before December 2018, you should still be able to log into it using the same details for commenting purposes. In addition to this, I am completely open to the possibility of implementing some light community building features, such as messaging and groups, if the need is there.

Finally, a Discord server was also set up a few months ago for an easier way to just chat with other members of the community. Be sure to check it out here!

Until next time
Keep on buzzin’

REVIEW – Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Marvel’s Cinematic Universe may have been the most ambitious crossover once upon a time, but I believe Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now takes the title for itself. The popular party fighting game is back once again, and this time everyone is here!

Is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as strong as Incineroars ‘wrastling’, or as weak as Waluigi’s chances are to become a playable fighter? Find out in our review, after the break!
