About Leon Fletcher

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

BourneNintendo – Nintendo E3 Viewing Party 2018

E3 2018 is so close, I can nearly taste it. The real question isn’t what games and hardware will be announced next week, but just what heck would E3 taste like? Well, if I had to guess, pineapple… and cake, but the really good kind of cake.

If you are in Bournemouth next week, why not come down to Bournemouth University’s SUBU building to play some games and watch the entire event live. As part of BourneNintendo and LGBT+ Gaming Society, I am hosting a Nintendo E3 Viewing Party to collectively fanboy over each and every announcement Nintendo makes. Not only that, but I will have the Switch set up to so we can also play some great games while waiting for Nintendo’s presentation. Oh, did I mention there will be snacks to?

When

Tuesday 12th June 2018 from 15:30 until 20:00

Where

Fifth Floor SUBU Building at Bournemouth University’s Talbot Campus

Fern Barrow, Poole BH12 5BB

Resident Evil 7 Cloud Edition Announced For Switch

Capcom made a rather unexpected announcement earlier this morning that, at least in Japan for now, Resident Evil 7 Cloud Edition will be coming out for the Nintendo Switch this Thursday. This version will include the base game, plus all currently released DLC, however it will only be available to stream, rather than to own, meaning the download will only be 45MB. When downloading, users will be able to play the game for 15 minutes, and then they will be prompted to pay 2,000 Japanese Yen for a pass to be able to play it for 180 days.

This is a rather odd decision for a few reasons. Most importantly, it essentially ruins the whole point of being able to play the Nintendo Switch anytime and anywhere. You may be able to play it at home, but if you want to take the Switch with you, you’ll only be able to play when you are connected to the internet, and lets face it, most public WiFi hotspots don’t offer the greatest speeds… especially during peak hours. Additionally, it could probably be assumed, if other gaming streaming services are to go by, that you would need a speedy and stable connection to be able to enjoy the game fully. Action and stealth titles aren’t the best when lulled with lag.

Finally seeing the downgrades Resident Evil 7 has for PSVR makes it seem like the Switch could easily handle that sort of version, however there are some people who assume that because it is streaming from Capcom based high-end PCs, it will perform better than what it would on Switch normally, however, as I’m not that knowledgable on that front, it’s best if I don’t make assumptions with that myself. I suppose another benefit is also the fact that it is 45MB that than several GB.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you like a Western release of the Cloud Version, or would you rather just outright own the title?

REVIEW – Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

You’ve played it once, you may have played it twice, but are you ready to play it thrice? Hyrule is falling to the same darkness as twice before, but this time it’s coming to you anytime, anywhere, and with anyone on Nintendo Switch, in Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition.

Is three times the charm, or is Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition more barren and dilapidated than the aftermath of a Hyrule battleground? Find out in our review, after the break!

Back during March’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced that Switch players could hit the courts early in a Mario Tennis Aces Pre-Launch Tournament. Dates for the tournament have now been announced, and it seems you can swing into the action very soon!

Starting from 1st June 2018, players can volley to their heart’s content in the free pre-launch tournament. There will be four characters that you’ll be able to compete with, Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Bowser, plus, the more points you earn in the tournament-styled gameplay will unlock up to five additional characters for this demo.

Players can also compete in offline solo matches against computer players to hone your ball court skills. Additionally, all those that compete in the tournament will unlock a special costume for Mario to don in the full game, which launches on the 22nd June 2018.

The tournament is open from 15:00 BST on Friday 1st June until 23:59 BST on Sunday 3rd June 2018. Check out the full press release after the break. Please note the trailer is not yet available, but will embed it as soon as it is.
