For this feature, I have chosen four themes that feature some kind of romantic connection, but which ones come up smelling of roses?

Welcome to another NintyBeats feature! To kick things off, I wanted to start from the beginning, and share music from some of the first Nintendo released games I ever played.
(more…)After a long hiatus, we are reviving the NintyBeats features once again! Leon asked me to resume this series of features, that aims to highlight the vast catalogue of music found in Nintendo games. (more…)Before the end of the Wii U era, it was rare for a Nintendo game to feature vocals in its prominent songs for its flagship games. The release of Fire Emblem: Three Houses in July will mark the fourth year in a row a landmark title will include singing in its main theme, of all places.
Vocal Nintendo songs have existed since the Nintendo GameCube. Captain Falcon had a theme song in F-Zero GX. The credits theme for Xenoblade Chronicles, “Beyond the Sky,” is an underrated gem of emotion, and one could argue that Zelda from Skyward Sword, K.K. Slider and the Squid Sisters had been singing all along before 2016.
That was the year when vocals finally started to appear for the masses, however. With the growing popularity of Fire Emblem, the Nintendo 3DS Fire Emblem Fates titles brought with them “Lost in Thoughts All Alone,” the main theme sung in both English and Japanese for those highly successful titles.
(more…)Only five more days until Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches on Nintendo Switch. Nearly halfway through the week, and already I can feel the tension, so today’s countdown to smash aims to alleviate said tension.
What’s a better way to do so than reviving an old NintyBuzz feature yet again? Yup, NintyBuzz is coming back for another smashing special, showcasing five preview tracks of Ultimate. Check ’em out after the break!

If you’ve been in England recently, you’ll probably know that it’s been, as Ruby Rhod would put it, hot hot HOT! Some places haven’t even had rain since May (Please note… a day after I wrote this intro, we got torrential rain). In this edition of NintyBeats, we’ll be showcasing some Nintendo music which will cool your heart in this scorching sun… or at least make it easier to imagine you’re somewhere nicer.
Check out our refreshing selection after the break!
