REVIEW – The Otterman Empire

In otter space, no one can hear you scream… well, at least that’s what evil mastermind, Tiko, would like you to think. It’s time to gear up and buddy up in this manic party shooter as the Otterman Empire needs your help. Shoot down spacecrafts, blow up artilleries, and most importantly, look cute all while doing so.

Is The Otterman Empire as awesome as otters are cute, or would it just be best to let Tiko take over the world? Find out what we thought in our review, after the break!

REVIEW: Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Isle of Armor

Pokémon Sword and Shield are the first games in the series to introduce an expansion pass, providing downloadable content which adds new areas to the base game. In June 2020, the first part of this pass was released in the form of The Isle of Armor, a huge island situated to the east of the Galar region, with a varied landscape to explore! You can access the Isle of Armor by purchasing the appropriate expansion pass from the Nintendo eShop, and download the most recent update to Pokémon Sword and Shield. From there, head to Wedgehurst Station and show your pass to the rail staff, who will allow you to travel to the new area.

REVIEW – Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

It’s been ten years since the release of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii in Japan, nine years for Europe and eight for North America. This year, MonolithSoft have taken the task of remastering it on better hardware to truly realise the ambitions they had originally envisioned. Sitting itself proudly beside its sequel on the Switch, using the same engine that powered it and Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Wii U, we now have Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, a comprehensive and complete remaster of the Wii classic in a much more accessible platform. But does this remaster live up to the lofty standards of the original?

VIDEO: Super Rare Games #33: Unboxing and Physical Review

In the new series from NintyBuzz, our Video Producer, Wilf puts on his unboxing hat for Super Rare Games.

Have a look inside the latest physical release from Super Rare Games, Graceful Explosion Machine. This addictive, arcade shoot ’em up involves piloting a small craft around stylish levels and using the four unique weapons to destroy enemies and rack up hefty combo multipliers to achieve that elusive S+ rank. As seen in the video, Super Rare Games’ physical edition comes packaged with a unique sticker, three trading cards and a full-colour manual. This is a strictly limited release, living up to the “Super Rare” moniker, so if it tickles your fancy it’s worth getting over to the Super Rare store post-haste.

Got an idea for the next indie darling that deserves a full physical? Let us know in the comments!

REVIEW – 51 Worldwide Games

Games are pretty awesome. Some people like to play them on their consoles, others like to spend time playing with friends and family with tabletop gaming. Both of these come together in 51 Worldwide Games, offering a range of popular board and card games from around the world, with some dating back millenia! For those of you who loved its predecessor, 42 All Time Classics (Clubhouse Games in the US) on the Nintendo DS, you’ll be as surprised as I am to see a sequel to that amazing title.
