REVIEW – Splatoon 2

UPDATE – This review has now been updated detailing our full opinion on the Salmon Run mode.

It’s been just over two years since Nintendo graced us with the inkredible Splatoon. The title gave a fresh new experience for the third person shooter genre. Though it was initially scampi on content, frequent updates kept the game fresh. Nintendo are now ready to release the next entry into the franchise, onto the Nintendo Switch, with Splatoon 2.

Is Splatoon 2 completely off the hook, or are you batter off skipping it entirely? Find out in our review after the break… along with even more terrible puns!

REVIEW – Flip Wars

Flip Wars (or Battle Sports Mekuru as it’s known in Japan) essentially borrows elements from Orthello (Reversi), Bomberman, and Splatoon to create a new concept of ‘battle sport’. On paper, it may seem like a very bizarre combination, but in practice it turns out to be a fairly neat new concept, for a fairly reasonable price.

Does Flip Wars have what it takes to win over that that £9 pocket money, or is it not even worth flipping off? Find out in our review, after the break!

REVIEW – ARMS

Nintendo has platforming down, they have adventure RPGs down, and they have 2D fighting down, they even have third person shooters down. In comes ARMS, Nintendo’s latest new IP to take on the 3D fighter genre. Think Tekken cross between Stretch Armstrong, with that little added extra Nintendo flair, and you get ARMS.

Set in the not-so-distant future, fighters with extendable arms compete in boxing matches with an extra twist, to claim victorious in the ARMS Grand Pix. Will ARMS stretch its way to victory, or is it just a tangled mess? Find out in our review, after the break!

REVIEW – Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

A few years ago, Fire Emblem raised itself from the grave with Fire Emblem Awakening. Since then, the series seemed to have revitalised. Not only did we receive three versions of Fire Emblem Fates for the 3DS and Fire Emblem Heroes for mobile devices, but there are also three more games of the tactical role-playing game set to release by the end of 2018. One of these games include the newly release Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

Fire Emblem Echoes follows the intertwining adventures of Alm and Celicaduring the war between two factions of Valentia. Does Fire Emblem Echoes’ release have decent strategy, or will it fall just like many knights of Valentia? Find out in our review, after the break!

REVIEW – Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Nearly three years ago, Mario zoomed back onto the track, as well as the water, air, walls, and ceilings, in Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Wii U. The title thrilled fans in 2014, albeit a generally poor battle mode experience, especially when 16 new tracks and a 200cc mode was added as DLC.

Come 2017, Mario is back with the same set of wheels for the Nintendo Switch, this time with some shiny new enhancements. Will Mario Kart 8 Deluxe take home the gold, or will it end up being a burnout? Find out in our review, after the break!
