SmashShot of the Day (9th July 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! This time we take a look at a formidable foe to those of you who like to StreetPass.

SmashShot 9/7/14

And of course it wouldn’t be a SmashShot without Sakurai’s commentary…

Just like in the original game, the Dark Emperor can cause status changes based on a fighter’s color. Red types generally get powered up. On a different subject, the Mii Fighter is wearing a Mii Force Helmet.

It looks like the Dark Emperor from the Find Mii stage will cause status effects on players based on their main colour. So if you were playing as Mario then you would be more powerful. It is currently unknown how these changes will take effect, though if I had to guess I would say whenever you get into contact with the Dark Emperor your status would change momentarily or perhaps he spew out status gas… I really have no idea!

Super Smash Bros. is set to be released on the 13th September 2014 in Japan, 3rd October 2014 in Europe and North America, and a day later in Australia for 3DS. The Wii U version is set to be released during Q4 2014.

SmashShot of the Day (8th July 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! It looks like Palutena takes the spotlight as today is a [Science Fiction] Double Feature, with both images featuring her!

SmashShot 8/7/14

Here’s what Sakurai had to say…

I talked about an attack with a far reach in yesterday’s post, but it didn’t compare to Palutena’s up smash attack! No joke, it reaches really far. It reached so far in this shot that even the rocketbarrels got blown up.

What is this, rise of the OP Smash Characters?!?! It seems that Palutena will definitely not be a watered down goddess… I would definitely hate to get on her bad side. If you thought the range in that move was impressive, wait until you see her next one, which definitely proves that she is worthy of the title goddess.

That said, if we’re talking just about range, even that can’t beat Palutena’s power, Heavenly Light. It has quite a damage field. However, this is a no-flinch attack, which means the opponents won’t react to the damage!

SmashShot of the Day (7th July 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! Today hosts yet another screenshot of the ever so popular Mii Gunner. Mii Gunner SmashShot And, per usual, here’s what Sakurai had to say:

The Mii Gunner’s side smash attack may have the farthest reach of all the side smashes…as should be expected from a firearms expert!! Looks like the attack missed this time, though.

So, it looks like the Mii Gunner is very experienced with a gun as his/her almighty weapon has the best range when it comes to the side smash… though that doesn’t mean their aim will always be the best. Super Smash Bros. is set to be released on the 13th September 2014 in Japan, 3rd October 2014 in Europe and North America, and a day later in Australia for 3DS. The Wii U version is set to be released during Q4 2014.

SmashShot of the Day DOUBLE (3rd and 4th July 2014)

Each new day brings with it a brand new Super Smash Bros shot, so here are your screenshots for both the 3rd and 4th July!

First up is fan favourite Mega Man, who is looking rather good on Wii U:

Mega Man.EXE and Mega Man Volnutt!! They only appear for a split second, but the modeling is so detailed.

Then we have another great 3rd party character – PacMan! The screenshot is of an exciting looking Pac-Maze stage:

Pac-Maze is a stage exclusive to the 3DS version, created in the Pac-Man motif. If you eat 100 Pac-Dots, Power Pellets will appear in your color. If you eat a Power Pellet, the monsters will become vulnerable and you can defeat them just by touching them. An important point is that the monsters will become vulnerable only on your screen, which means that they can still damage your opponents!! This is one of the unique game features only possible in the 3DS version.

SmashShot of the Day (2nd July 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! Today’s SmashShot proves that Mii’s do not need spacesuits to go out into space… or at least at the Rainbow Road Arena in Smash Bros. for 3DS.

SmashShot - 2nd July 2014

And here’s what Sakurai had to say about the photo:

The Mii Gunner in his suit. Looking sharp! The arm cannon’s design will change depending on the outfit, but the attacks and projectiles will be the same.

Is it me, or does that suit the Mii is wearing make him seem really… classy? Either way, the outfits for the gunner Mii will change the weaponry’s appearance, but not the power of attacks.

Super Smash Bros. is set to be released on the 13th September 2014 in Japan, 3rd October 2014 in Europe and North America, and a day later in Australia for 3DS. The Wii U version is set to be released during Q4 2014.

SmashShot of the Day (1st July 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! Today’s screenshot showcases an alternative costume of a certain newcomer in the Smash Bros. games… check out the image to find out who it is!

And this is what Sakurai had to say about the image:

Pic of the day. The pink sweatshirt looks really cool on Little Mac, so you can use that outfit in this game… How can a pink sweatshirt look so cool?

And for those who simply can not figure out who the character is, Sakurai posted a second comment for the image:

Looks like some of you noticed that this version of Little Mac wasn’t shown at E3. There are many things, like Link’s Skyward Sword tunic design I posted earlier, that haven’t been revealed yet.

Yes, it is Little Mac. And from this comment, it seems that this time alternate costumes will involve more than just different colours, like in previous games, but instead will be completely different attire. Here’s an example of another costume which Sakruai posted several days ago.

This image shows off Link’s alternate costume. Do you recognise it? It’s the outfit you start off with in Skyward Sword, the Skyloft Knight Academy Uniform!

Super Smash Bros. is set to be released on the 13th September 2014 in Japan, 3rd October 2014 in Europe and North America, and a day later in Australia for 3DS. The Wii U version is set to be released during Q4 2014.
