SmashShot of the Day (30th June 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! Today, he Sakurai has posted a screenshot of a trophy that Smash fans may recognise.

Poppants

And, here’s what he had to say about the picture:

Pic of the day. Here’s a Poppant, an enemy that appeared in the previous game in this series. Poppants will appear in Smash Run, scampering around as they drop a variety of items.

That’s not all! It looks like we have a double feature today, as Sakurai commented on this post with a new SmashShot and a new caption!

There are other bonus characters that appear in this game, too. Here’s an Iridescent Glint Beetle from the Pikmin series. Keep hitting it!! Keep hitting it for gold!!

Super Smash Bros. is set to be released on the 13th September 2014 in Japan, 3rd October 2014 in Europe and North America, and a day later in Australia for 3DS. The Wii U version is set to be released during Q4 2014.

SmashShot of the Day (27th June 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! Today, he shows off a screenshot involving the Mii Fighters, which were announced during E3 earlier this month.

Here’s what he had to say about the image today.

Some of the physical characteristics of Miis get carried over when you use them as Mii Fighters. The smaller ones become speed fighters and the bigger ones are more akin to power fighters

From this, it sounds like the Mii Fighter’s stats will change depending on the size of the Mii character being used. For example, a smaller Mii will move quicker but a larger Mii will serve more powerful attacks. A similar system can be seen in Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8 where the class of the racer Mii is dependant on the size of the Mii.

SmashShot of the Day (26th June 2014)

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, Smash Bros. Director, Masahiro Sakurai, has been showing off Smash Bros. glory by uploading a screenshot from the upcoming instalments for 3DS and Wii U nearly every day on MiiVerse… that’s a whole lot of visual content for your eyeballs! Today’s image is taken from the Wii U exclusive stage ‘Mushroomy Kingdom’.

Smash Bros. Nabbit

Here’s what Sakurai pinned with today’s ‘SmashShot’

Here’s Nabbit, who appears in the Mushroom Kingdom U stage. You can’t see him, but Luigi is inside Nabbit’s bag

It is currently unknown to use whether or not Nabbit appears as an Assist Trophy or an exclusive event within the stage, though it seems that when he does appear, he will literally steal a character and hang on to him with dear life!

Win a chance to preview Smash 3DS/Wii U early!

Hey you! Yes, you! Do you live in the United Kingdom (or are in the United Kingdom on Thursday 25th September 2014)? Are you a Smash Bros. Fanatic? Then have we got news for you! Smash Ball   Nintendo have recently announced that they are offering select fans, who register their interest on the Nintendo UK Store, a chance to experience the brand new exhilarating installations on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U. You could be some of the first people in the UK to brawl it out in London using your favourite Nintendo characters.

Those who enter the competition must be available to attend EGX London (formerly EuroGamer Expo) on Thursday September 25th. Don’t worry if you do not win, as there are still tickets to the expo which can be purchased from the EGX London website for quite reasonable prices. Plus, I hope to attend EGX London this year where I hope to document my experiences with Nintendo’s games on show.
