NintyBuzz @ EGX 2014

It was an early Sunday morning, dew fresh on the ground and sleep encrusted upon my eyelids. There was no time to waste, as the final day of EGX lay ahead. Yes, we had the pleasure to attend one of the biggest gaming expos in the UK, full of various upcoming titles from many different developers for many different consoles, though of course, we mainly stayed in the Nintendo booth… scratch that, that was our home for the entire day!

We Are Back And Heading To EGX 2014

Why howdy there! It has definitely been a while since I have even touched the behind the scenes pages of NintyBuzz, and I greatly apologise for my absence. It has been quite a hectic few weeks for me starting my new course at the beginning of the month, especially with two assignments already being set. However now that things are cooling off a bit, I am happy to announce that I am ready to start becoming more active here. Unfortunately I won’t be able to meet the activity I used to have, though I am hoping to bring in a few new writers to help pick up the slack as well as offering differing viewpoints of many news stories and games.

What’s better to celebrate the return of activity than announcing that we will be attending EGX (formerly Eurogamer Expo) tomorrow, Sunday 28th September 2014. While at EGX, we will be sharing our experience of the upcoming titles from Nintendo and 3rd party developers such as Super Smash Bros for 3DS/WiiU, Splatoon, Yoshi’s Wooly World, Bayonetta 2, Sonic Boom and more! It seems that Europe will be receiving a double pack of Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 3DS. The pack will contain two copies of the 3DS game at a reduced price so you can share a copy with one of your friends. How sweet!

Pre-Orders for First 12 amiibo Figures Kick off Nintendo’s Holiday Season

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo has prepared a massive lineup of new games and products for the 2014 holiday season. The lineup includes new entries from some of the biggest franchises in gaming, new hardware bundles for Wii U and Nintendo 2DS, and new amiibo interactive figures featuring some of the most iconic characters in the world of video games.

The holiday shopping season begins today for Nintendo fans, as the first 12 amiibo interactive figures become available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of just $12.99 each. The first dozen characters available for pre-order at select retailers are Mario, Peach, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Kirby, Fox, Marth, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer, with more on the way in the future.

This Tool Assisted Sudden Death Brawl Will Blow Your Eyeballs Out Their Sockets… Probably

Super Smash Bros. Brawl may have been released way back in 2008 [6 years ago!], but the game still doesn’t cease to tantalise one’s wow factor. This one gamer takes the game to the next level with, what I assume are, hacks to make this Sudden Death match super intense; it lasted for just over 50 seconds when usually one hit finishes the game within a matter of a few seconds. Check out the video now just to see what I am babbling on about!

RUMOUR – Leaked Smash Characters Surface

In just under a month, Smash Bros. will see itself for the first time on a handheld console, the Nintendo 3DS, on Japanese shores. It has been quite a while since we have had any character announcements, the latest one was way back in the middle of July where newcomers, Lucina and Robin, and veteran, Captain Falcon, were announced in a special live trailer. We could soon see a few more character announcements as, recently, some footage containing a few characters not yet seen have been ‘leaked’ onto YouTube. Check out the video after the break!

Smash Bros. Special Edition 3DS XL Smashing Onto Shelves

With just over a month until Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is released in Europe, Nintendo of Europe have just recently announced this beauty, a Limited Edition Smash Bros. 3DS XL system!

As you can see, the Limited Edition design features the snazzy new Smash logo in the top right corner as well as a long line of fighters from the game, both newcomers and veterans. It will also come with a pre-installed version of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.

The console will have limited availability at selected retailers and the Official Nintendo Store UK, and will retail for around £210. There is currently no word on a US release, though seeing how big the release is, I would definitely not rule out a US release.

Super Smash Bros. is set to be released for 3DS on the 13th September 2014 in Japan, 3rd October 2014 in Europe and North America, and a day later in Australia. The Wii U version is set to be released during Q4 2014.
