Majora’s Mask 3D – Trailer and Screenshot Analysis

Well, it looks like Nintendo has finally done it…The 3DS has “met with a terrible fate”. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is FINALLY coming to the 3DS, us over here at NintyBuzz couldn’t be more excited. I don’t want to speak for everyone here, but at least for myself, Majora’s Mask is the greatest game ever made. I did a review of the N64 version for NintyBuzz a while back if you wanna check it out, it’s right here.

To celebrate this glorious announcement, we’ve decided to take some of the screenshots and trailer from the remake under the magnifying glass and analyze them a bit.

Check them out after the break!

The Three Year Cycle – Majora’s Mask 3D Started Development After Ocarina 3D

Those of you who have played or know of Majora’s Mask probably know all about the three day cycle. It turns out that Nintendo have actually been developing Majora’s Mask 3D for about three years, in fact, they started developing the remake nearly directly after Ocarina of Time 3D. That means, all that time us fans were petitioning and begging Nintendo for a remake, the guys at Nintendo were just in their offices snickering at how we were begging for a game they are making… perhaps, though maybe not that harsh!

Joking aside, Aonuma, via Miiverse, mentions how they were waiting to be able to say that it wasn’t just an ordinary remake and how it will run smoother. This should hopefully give you an idea of what the remake may be like when it is released.

Check out the Miiverse post and our predictions after the break!

The Moon Is Falling in Majora’s Mask 3D

Four giants, three days, two friends and one moon. Nintendo have teased us fans for the 3D Majora’s Mask remake, yet they were always very tight lipped on its existence. Today’s Nintendo Direct finally unbuttoned said lips to announce the remake with a release date of Spring 2015.

For those of you who do not know, Majora’s Mask was the almost-sequel to Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64. It was a sequel in the sense that it continued directly after the events of Ocarina of Time, yet it was very much different to its predecessor. You find yourself trapped in an ill-fated alternate world named Termina. There are several residents in dismay due to the chaos a certain figure has unleashed. A monkey is framed for the kidnapping of a Deku princess, a girl’s father has been turned into a Gibdo, and inn-keeper’s fiancé has been turned into a child days before their wedding… oh, did we mention that the moon is falling?

Yes, we had the pleasure to attend one of the biggest gaming expos in the UK, full of various upcoming titles from many different developers for many different consoles, though of course, we mainly stayed in the Nintendo booth… scratch that, that was our home for the entire day!
